UX Tips #20 Over defending your deliverables may kill creativity

You can probably remember a time where you found yourself emotionally attached to a piece of work you created. After all, it would have taken you hours of carefully crafting it into perfection, and so its normal to be protective over your masterpiece. However, this can make receiving feedback difficult and cause you to defend your work irrationally, regardless of whether the feedback is valid. As UX consultants, there are two things we can do to ensure we don`t over-protect our work. First, we should be objective and open-minded with client feedback, and determine the best solution based on the business requirements and the best practice. Second, it is always recommended to discuss the reasons for our design decisions to ensure we have a solid rationale for the proposed solutions, rather than being emotionally driven.
